Dr. Leland earned his Bachelor of Science in molecular biology from the University of California, San Diego and his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. During medical school, he pursued philanthropic interests as president of the Border Health Project and work with the Student Run Free Clinic. Following graduation from medical school, Dr. Leland completed two years of general surgery training in the University of California, San Diego Department of Surgery and a research fellowship in cartilage and bone tissue engineering in the lab of Dr. Marcel Nimni and Dr. Bo Han in the University of Southern California Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is currently a resident in the Integrated Program of USC’s Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr. Leland is a resident member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, and the American College of Surgeons.
